In the process of transformation, Aro Palace Brasov is hiring Hotel General Manager!
One of the key positions in the company's management structure Aro Palace Brasov is open to candidates with hospitality experience. The company owned by Transilvania Investments, a majority shareholder with 85% of the shares, is looking for a GM.
A symbol of Brasov, Aro Palace has been the city's most important hotel for more than eight decades. Plans for the future call for a modernisation process to bring the Aro Palace back to the top of the list of tourist preferences. The reopening of the night bar and the famous rooftop restaurant, as well as the refurbishment of the rooms, are among the first measures planned for the coming period. The position of general manager of the hotel includes coordinating these investments and creating a modern organisational culture to support the hotel's policy of retaining the more than 70,000 guests who stay there every year.
Responsibilities of the GM
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs and supervises the entire activity of the hotel according to Romanian legislation and professional standards/procedures, within the limits set by the resolutions of the other corporate bodies of the Company;
- Develops and establishes strategies for the development of specific services;
- Develops and promotes the hotel's image by planning and coordinating marketing and advertising activities;
- Prepare sales plan and identify customer segments;
- Develop tour packages related to the specified location;
- Ensure good promotion and sales plans for hotel services;
- Oversees the proper use of customer retention and loyalty methods;
- Prepares, manages and analyses the hotel's operating budget;
- Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Directors;
- Make business decisions to ensure the hotel's profitability;
- Investigates the market in order to continuously optimise the services offered with the ultimate goal of achieving the set objectives;
- Represents the hotel in its dealings with third parties;
- Create and implement strategies/policies for the development of the hotel business;
- Develops plans to increase the profitability of subordinate activities and optimises costs;
- Ensures the most cost-effective menu procurement/engineering to meet cost/revenue priorities without compromising quality;
- Create strong management teams and define plans for recruiting, developing and motivating staff;
- Coordinates staff to maintain high standards of hotel service;
- Organises regular meetings with his team to encourage open communication at all levels;
- Develops and manages the hotel team through regular feedback and evaluations, action plans.
Requirement
- Higher education diploma with a preference in hospitality, compulsory studies in the field;
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in a hotel manager position;
- Experience in coordinating a large team;
- Good knowledge of the hotel product market and its particularities;
- Advanced knowledge of English, and/or German;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
- Ability to make quick, effective and responsible decisions;
- Excellent planning and organisational skills;
- Flexibility and willingness to learn from others;
- Customer-oriented.
